Research Articles
During my time at the University of Arkansas, I wrote two research papers, One is based on the myths and conundrums that we hear all too often in the teaching community and the other highlights the treatments for college students with ADHD.

MYTHS & CONUNDRUMS
I really enjoyed researching these topics. The topic that I was most excited to learn more about was the learning styles. I heard the most about the topic when I was getting my undergraduate degree in elementary education. They are still telling teachers that we need to teach the different learning styles while there is no real evidence that it works. Since I am in the educational technology program, I assumed technology was beneficial to education. I was pleased to find out that it truly assists learning but it wont replace having a teacher. Researching digital natives and digital immigrants reiterated the fact that we all have something to contribute because all humans can bring a new perspective to a problem or situation.
The purpose of writing this research paper was to dive deeper into common misconceptions. I explain the research behind the question: does technology help learning? I also go through the common misconception that digital natives are better than digital immigrants. Finally, I discuss the lack of research that supports learning styles and the use of them in education. Creating this paper allowed me to research different topics that are common myths or conundrums within the educational field.

Treatment for College Students with ADHD
This was by far my favorite research paper because I was able to pick the topic I wanted to research. I have always been interested in how ADHD can be overcome in college. ADHD diagnosis is becoming more prevalent and it interests me that there are so many people who are successful in college with this diagnosis. This led me to researching the treatments that college students are using and that are available to make it easier on them to be successful. I was able to do that and dive deeper to see which treatments are really helpful and ones that are shown to be less helpful.
The purpose of writing this paper was to research a topic that related to education that you are interested in. We had to have at least thirty articles that were cited in the paper to support your paper. I chose to research treatments for ADHD in college students. I had to read through all of the literature that I could find on the topic and create a paper that compiled my findings. This paper taught me how to do better research and let the findings lead your paper. A theory to begin with is a good beginning but you need to let the literature guide whether your theory is correct or not. I learned a lot writing this paper and I made a list of treatments for college students who are struggling with ADHD.
